Just letting everyone know that if you don't mind massive spoilers you can view the outline for "THE PILOT" at www.titanrainbow.com/scripts/fsqthepilot.htm. But you are forewarned, if you read this you will know how it begins!

I really liked this. it gave a really good sense of things very quickly. Are people passing on this? For what? There's a lightness to this badly missing in a lot of televisoin these days. I hope you guys get a partner and a go ahead soon. the wait is killing me.

What I liked about this:
*** SPOILERS *** , , , , , , , , , , , , , Got going fast. Ackers was revealed nicely. @bale: he's a recruiter. @davis: he's in the military, @caboto: he's a major and a serious player, @finn: he's tried to assemble a team before. Already I like him. Already I like the team. I know what each of their specialties is and it works for me.
I also know this isn't STAR TREK or BSG or any other show, this is more like COMBAT (just got the first box set, love this show!)
Then the mission. Nice. A little redirection, not sure what's going on.
I think the Reporter's going to screw things up, damsel in distress thing, done to death. Then, she saves the day. Not only that but I get the feeling she knows a lot more of whats going on than anyone else does. Very cool.
By the end of it I don't know if I'm reading about COMBAT, MISSION IMPOSSIBLE or the X-Files, but I do know I like it. It also takes me to what I didn't like.
WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE ABOUT IT:
I thought this was a space show? Not much of that. Is that temporary or is the show more about this team putting out crisises around earth?
And it's not too much future oriented. What I read could be set next year, ten years from now, or whatever. Is that intentional? And does it change?
Just my initial feedback here. If I think of anything else I'll let you know (you do want to know right? I mean, it was ok to tell you what i didn't like. I hope. I'm not flamming anyone, just that part wasn't what I expected.)
thanks again!
Looking forward to Finn Fridays return!

The pace is set early on, which is alway's a plus. The way you get to see all the characters at the beginning gives enough to see why these particular people are picked. The thought that Tremblay isn't coming back doesn't bother me too much, though it would be interesting to see more interaction between the two(he and Finn) I like the fact that Ackers acknowledges he has been played and is wondering why. As for the reporter I am wondering if she isn't so much a reporter as a spy for someone higher up, just too much information for a regular reporter, and boy does she show her colors and fast--almost makes you wonder what her and Finn talked about in that craft--considering how he felt about her in the begginning and at the end, it wasn't quite a total turn around but enough was hinted at that she knows alot more than would a regular reporter.

I also know this isn't STAR TREK or BSG or any other show, this is more like COMBAT (just got the first box set, love this show!) FL,
COMBAT!™ with VIC MORROW was a consistent little programme, but I always found the filmstock overexposed, as I prefer my b&w cinematic experience to lean more toward Film Noir.
I look forward to reading TOPPER’S & GAZ’S responses to your post for their feedback.
Thank you for your candour.
