I am thinking since the SO stuff is before FSQ that maybe, what we are seeing is the beggings of these companies and alot of companies end up changing their name's to bring attention to them when they go public.

OK, I'm confused, because when you go through the INTERFACE PAGE the SO stuff has a later year than the FSQ stuff. Does that mean FSQ is actually a prequel?

Hmm, good point out, FL. know I am wondering, there is alot of FSQ giveaway's in SO tech pages, Maybe they are running at the same time? I seem to get this feeling when going through the SO tech pages because it seems like FSQ is in the middle of it.

dunno about that. the first clue that got me thinking SO was after is that they're out in space meeting aliens and i remember Gary saying FSQ was before eath met aliens and stuff but the SO history goes all the way back to the like the ice age and stuff so i dunno but i'm leary of reading anything during the early 23rd century because of spoilers you know?

Yeah I understand that, also a good point. If you don't want to know how FSQ comes out maybe you shouldn't read the SO tech stuff.

Much of what is in the Space Oddity technical manual never made it to the show. it was the sort of stuff that added to the background, but unlike Star Trek, was very seldom referred to, or included in the plot.
Certainly, as you'll be able to see soon, the scripts didn't get hung up on a lot of this stuff (except for a brief 12 episode arc during an intergalactic war).
Yes, the future of Earth will be revealed and if you hunt hard enough you'll find some truths for FSQ but the vast majority of what you'll see there was never cannon, never referred to in SO and has no bearing on FSQ. In fact Gary tells us there are more "red herrings" in the current SO Tech Manual as far as FSQ is concerned than actual clues.
As Gary said at last year's TORONTO TREK panel, FSQ is about who builds the ship that goes out there, why were they selected to go, and what had to happen on Earth before those decisions could be made. It's about the maturing of Earth, the geo-politics behind these decisions and the prep before the mission.
Still, if you don't like spoilers, and don't any hints on the outcome then the SPACE ODDITY TECHNICAL MANUAL is a good thing to avoid, but really, so then is the FSQ Tech Man.

Space Oddity is definately connected, as this is alot of the background for Finn himself(Such as the Lunar Base mission that sent Finn to Ground Ops,for Buffalo Common's and the beginning of FSQ) It also has alot of the starting points for certain companies in FSQ. But just how much of it is going into FSQ we will have to see...........

Here is a quick rundown will put up the URL I also found for it. When you get there follow the McManus Family links until you come across 655 squadron links and they will take you where you want to go--- 2225 November 30 - 655 Squadron teammate Gregory ANDREIVICH is recalled by GLAVCOSMOS Command for "GUBACHEN" Project. 2225 December 6 - Lieutenant Melbourne Girney arrives at Station 3 reporting for duty as 655 Team Engineer following her fall-out with Boomerang Project Manager Dr SHINDAR. 2225 December 7 - Bill Magellan happens upon the New SOVIET "GUBACHEN" plot to ambush UNSA forces from a hidden base on the farside of the Moon. After unsuccessfully trying to bring official attention of their discovery to UNSA Command Robert MacMANUS and the rest of the 655 Squadron attempt to deal with the problem on their own. 2225 December 10 - 655 Squadron go on "Wargames" under the command of Lieutenant Robert N MacMANUS. This action triggers the FARSIDE INCIDENT. 2225 December 11 - Farside Renegade New SOVIET/GLAVCOSMOS plot build-up located on Moon is uncovered by 655 Squadron. UNSA Space Forces arrive on scene before build-up is complete. NEXT 655 Squadron EVENT www.titanrainbow.com/interlink/iframe.html

FSQ is like a seperate story, set into Space Oddity Universe--Kind of like when you talk about The Star Trek Universe, the different shows,ie TOS,TNG,DS-9,Voyager,Ent--are all parts of the same universe--just seperate stories Except in this case you have Space Oddity being the base and FSQ being a spin-off.

which is where Finn Declined the "offer" to go Deep space. Preferring to stay closer to Earth, and was put into Ground Op's. --From the Farside Incident Lexicon Entry for FSQ-- Among the 655 was Wing Leader Finnegan. Although he wouldn't testify against his Squadmates, and did nothing to avoid his part in the action, Finn refused his outer system assignment to the Supercarrier Enterprise (SCC-465). He was given the option of transferring to Ground Ops, which he did. His specific reasons for accepting this lateral move remain personal. And if you want to know more about what he did next check out his personnel File www.titanrainbow.com/techsisfinn.htmlIt will lead to what happened after the Farside Incident all the way to Buffalo Common's. Their is also a page with his Strategic Intelligence report on it. www.titanrainbow.com/techsi.html#finn
