I like the way it is progressing, slow enough to keep up with but you can feel the tension ooze from the corners, alot of little things, adding up to a big bang. I can feel it coming. I grok the fullness of the totality!

Having just read Chapter Four of DAM my initial dislike of Captain Tremblay has bloomed into a full fledge distrust. He reminds me of "Needlemeyer" from Animal House, and were I on his team I'd wish the same fate.
I've got a bad feeling about this...

I've got a bad feeling about this... Couldn't have said it better. What sort of story will this be if the good guys fail?

I don't think I totally agree with that assessment of Trembley. Because at least with him we are seeing a commander who is thinking things through to a big picture perspective. Do you needlessly kill someone you could take out in less than 3 seconds? Or do you take the stealth approach try to get your mission accomplished without bloodshed? You could probably get close enough to take prisoners, that way you have some "chips" if it comes down to a hostage for hostage deal. Or you have someone who could possibly give your team info on the "kidnappers", # of people involved, positions, kind of weapons and number of those weapon's, Their goals with this--what do they want? etc etc etc. Pretty good trade off really, and you have to remember the good guy's don't alway's win the small battles it is the whole picture, the long term goals, that are important in the end.

I just read DAM: PART 6, & found myself becoming dizzy from holding my breath in response to the increasing tension & mounting suspense.

This chapter kicked things up several notches! The tension was palpable; I felt as though I was actually there, smelling the environment, feeling the sensations of the various characters.

oh man what a tease!!, that kid,Bear Whitehall, is a heck of a shot, would like to learm more about him, I have a feeling though with all the background given on him in this episode that somewhere in the future he is going to be in more than just this one episode. The sniper Gertie, definately need to learn more about her. What a way for the cover to be blown, smart thinking on the kids side.

In a story like this though you never have clearly defined good and bad, good and bad are subject to what you feel at the moment the "bad" guy's in the story are not really bad in that they are the one's who's land it's been for all the years, and the good guy's are trying to their jobs--the best way they can with a minimum of lives wasted but you can definately understand both feelings which makes for good story telling, and great arc's-- really intense on boith sides though.

The tenth and final installment of Chapter Five EQUUS was delivered to last friday. Those around the office have just finished reading it and we're all very impressed for sure. Word has it the chapter following it will have both a different tone and a spoiler warning so stay tuned!

I've just read the first "EQUUS" & it is quite gripping, indeed. In my mind's ear, I heard the big 1950's American Announcer voice:
