The teaser looked interesting but there wasn't all that much to peak my a real interest. Plus, the nose of the 'shuttlecraft' looked like it came from one of the spacecraft on 'Space 1999' I would like to see more of this show. Maybe it could bump off one of the many stupid vampire shows on SPACE which I do not watch.

Hey HEATSEEKER, Welcome!
I've noticed that a lot of ships on the Technical Manual have a "tip of the hat" feeling to other sci-fi. I took the design of the shuttle that way and actually love that about FSQ.
I hope you stick around!

Welcome to the domain!
The SPACE: 1999™ Eagle-style nosecone was a detail that endeared me to the shuttle design when first I saw it, mainly because I endorse the utilitarian design aesthetic of form being preceded by function, especially in Science Fiction.
Am I to infer that you shan't be viewing MR. DAVID GOYER'S BLADE: THE SERIES™?

I will check out Blade because I enjoyed the movies. I just feel that there are too many series based on vampires ever since Buffy started. To me it's the same old same old. It's like they have run out of ideas and just taken a normal tv series like CSI or ER and made all the main characters vampires. When does 'Everyone Sucks Raymond' start? Next thing you know, they'll have a reality show about people who think they're vampires. Thank God for videos and pay-per-view because television really sucks the big one these days.

Actually the first Vampire/Horror Tv show I remember was Dark Shadows. But I know what you are saying with the reality shows(they did have a vampire on a thankfully short lived reality show on Sci-fi) I wish whoever is in charge would get over the so called reality shows, and bring on something alot better such as FSQ. If you would lilke to join in the fight to get FSQ shown check this out titanrainbow.proboards34.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=1103560136

wasn't the space 1999 craft based on the Lunar Module?

yu may want to ask Gary if the design of the Shuttlecraft nose is based on the Lunar module, Put it under Questions for the Big Guy Thread I for one would be interested in hearing the comments.

yu may want to ask Gary if the design of the Shuttlecraft nose is based on the Lunar module, Put it under Questions for the Big Guy Thread I for one would be interested in hearing the comments. we are led to understand that SPACE 1999 was somewhat influenced by Kubrick's 2001. 2001 attempted to design according to best understood reality at that time, which being 1968 included the actual lunar missions. The TOLEX SHUTTLE as seen in SHUTTLEDOWN is a definite homage to all three. Other designs in FSQ are based on similar thought processes including the Carriers/Supercarriers which have are based more on the proportions of a Great Lake Steamship than any other naval vessel. The lot of us have been dragged out to the Welland Canal Lock Viewing area just for the purposes of research. The Lock Viewing area allows visitors to view ships going through Locks 3, 4, 5, and 6 all from the one spot. Hornets of course are futuristic versions of Cobra attack helicopters while the RIGEL III takes a design nod or two from both Boeing aircraft and submarine designs. There are others but off the top of my head I can't recall them all.
