This one goes to (year) Eleven

Not even September and already I have been coming here for a few days to see if there was a year Eleven thread, so I may as well start it, with apologies to Spike for stepping on his traditional gig.

A rare year I have the day totally off, so will be going to the cemetery and then Snug Harbour like last year, but not having to bow out early (or not be there at all due to work) like usual. Also will be bringing the oldest friend I've got this year, Paul, who also knew The Man.

Despite the somber occasion I really enjoyed last year's gathering and am looking forward to seeing you all again and not having to keep checking my watch to not be late for work, for a change

I'll be there. On the day at the time. As ever and always. Any contracts my futre may hold will have a rider reading: "the undersigned will have September 13th as non-work day".

To those reading this who remember my ghastly performance last year, I deeply apologize. Such is only what happens when, let's say, the Tenth Anniversary of my best friend blowing his brains is a thing and, for once, I don't have to get home under my own power. Ugly and deeply hurt meets all sorts of booze. Embarrassment is the obvious result.
