TOPPER,
The HECKLER & KOCH™ XM-8 Carbine with add-on XM320 Grenade Launcher puts me very much in mind of the MARWAYNE™ 750, while the other designs are reflective of the other models in the MARWAYNE™ series.
The HECKLER & KOCH™ XM-8 is relatively aesthetically pleasing to behold, quite similar to the ROLAND™ Guitar Synthesiser model from the early 1980’s. The name put me in mind of the XM-18 ballistic assault weapon that was featured heavily in THE DOGS OF WAR™ (1980), which starred HERR CHRISTOPHER WALKEN.
The XM-8 design looks like a cross between the commando version of the HECKLER & KOCH™ MP-5 & the commando version of the FN-FAL™ 7.62, as well as the best features of the commando version of the M-16 (as carried by ELIAS in PLATOON™, so I can see a lot of people ditching their current arsenal in favour of the XM-8, but I anticipate that many people will want the option of a 9mm model, since that calibre is more readily available in North America & throughout the world.
Until I have the opportunity to test-fire the XM-8 myself, I harbour reservation about the alleged “ambidextrous operation controls”, since virtually all small arms designs have been conceived & executed by right-hand dominant weapons designers, so their perception of what left-hand dominant people need is generally counter-intuitive. Left-handed people are accustomed to adapting to right-handed designs like the GLOCK™ series of pistols, which, as a left-handed person, I have found to be the most user-friendly personal carry firearm.
I like the option of select-fire bursts, which I think ought to be a standard feature of any assault weapon/assault rifle that has a minimum 30-round capacity.
I don’t care for the notion of 5 pre-set positions for the collapsible/folding stock: I would rather have the option of setting it wherever I need it to be, rather than having to conform to a manufacturer’s notion of what I might need in a combat situation.
I’m not a fan of laser sighting for tactical reasons, but Infra-Red is always useful. I would prefer a 3-dot TRIJICON™ sighting system as standard issue, since it is not dependent upon batteries, which laser sights always have been, & always will be.

This was a cut & paste job, so I'm not responsible for the various spelling & grammatical errors, but the advice in each of the below points is sound enough that I thought I should pass it onto you lot.
MX"Aim towards the Enemy." - Instruction printed on US Army Rocket Launcher "When the pin is pulled, Mr. Grenade is not our friend." - USMC Training Bulletin "Cluster bombing from B-52s is very, very accurate. The bombs are guaranteed to always hit the ground." - USAF literature "If the enemy is in range, so are you." - Infantryman's Journal "A slipping trigger gear could let your M203 grenade launcher fire when you least expect it. That would make you quite unpopular in what's left of your unit." - Army's Magazine of Preventive Maintenance "It is generally inadvisable to eject directly over the area you just bombed." - US Air Force Manual "Try to look unimportant; they may be low on ammo." - Infantryman's Journal "country music guyrs work both ways." - US Army Ordnance Manual "Five-second fuses only last three seconds." - Infantryman's Journal "If your attack is going too well, you're walking into an ambush."-infantryman's Journal "Any ship can be a minesweeper... once." - Anonymous Naval brass "Don't draw fire; it irritates the people around you." - Your Buddies "If you see a bomb technician running, try to keep up with him." -Unknown

That is one formidable weapon.
How is it able to change colour? Is there a chip in the barrel or stock which sends signals and projects a halographic image to match the background, thereby giving a false impression to one's foe.
One piece of information is left out. What is the time to reload ?

another article i read implied the outer casing is replaceable meaning instead of sandy brown for Iraq you could switch it to frosty white (for Siberia) or Olive Green for South East Asia. i could be wrong but that's what I understood.

SIRONA,
Yes, it is indeed a formidable weapon system.
There is a PREDATOR™-type combat suit which is being developed for use by the U.S. Army which operates on similar principles to what you have described, except that it causes light to “bend around” its wearer, thereby rendering them virtually invisible to the naked eye.
I would speculate (based on my own experience with similar weaponry) that its reload time would be approx. 2-3 seconds, with practice.
&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&
TOPPER,
You are correct, sir.
My personal favourite finish is S.A.S. Black, however.

LADYTASS,
It has been my experience that no matter how comprehensive a set of instructions might be, there will always be *someone* who doesn’t bother to read them or confirm that they have understood them correctly.
This is why the Armed Forces place so much emphasis upon telling Non-Commissioned Personnel *exactly* what to do @ all times: in this way, an established pattern of response to ignorance has been put in place to save lives that might otherwise get thrown away through careless “misadventure”.
