I must say I wasn't quite sure how much I was going to enjoy this movie(they never seem to do justice to the comic's when they switch from a comic book to a movie) But I must admit I was surprised by the movie(and pleasantly,I might add) This had the markings of a good start to a very interesting franchise. John Travolta played a good(if not a little insane) bad guy. The main character, as played, was himself a little off the deep end but understandly so. Thank you for the heads up to MX about this movie. definately worth a watch.

LADYTASS,
You’re entirely welcome, love!
I have not yet managed to obtain a DVD copy of THE PUNISHER™ (2004) of my own, so I hope that there are several bonus features to accompany the comic book written & drawn by MESSRS. GARTH ENNIS, STEVE DILLON & TIM BRADSTREET.
What did you find “not a little insane” about HOWARD SAINT?
What was it about FRANK CASTLE’S actions that led you to conclude that he “was himself a little of the deep end”?

LADYTASS,
I finally managed to obtain a copy of THE PUNISHER™ (2004) starring THOMAS JANE & JOHN TRAVOLTA, but because it was used overstock from a video shop, I did not get the Limited Edition comic book scripted & drawn by MESSRS. GARTH ENNIS & STEVE DILLON.
I'm very happy for MARVEL COMICS GROUP™ & LIONS GATE ENTERTAINMENT™ that THE PUNISHER™ (2004) has been selling so well that I literally could not find a brand new copy since first it was released on SEP. 7/2004, but this does mean that my collection is woefully incomplete.
It is my hope that viewing the film fo\r the first time since I attended the preview screening in APRIL 2004 will improve my outlook on life somewhat, especially since I have been looking forward to the various Special Features.

I never much cared for Travolta myself, but based on this borrowed a copy of it from a friend and like it so much I'm thinking of buying a copy for myself. Walmart has them for $26.83 (don't know if it's a special edition or not) but I might try to locate a prev viewed copy instead (thanks Mr XERXES!) I'd definitely like to see more of this franchise. It ain't Spidey and it ain't supposed to be!

FIRST LEFTENANT,
I grok the fullness of the totality!
Yesternight, I viewed a film titled BASICTM that starred JOHN TRAVOLTA, & he impressed me far above & beyond my expectations, so much so that I can now understand why it was that people were hoping he would be cast as THE PUNISHERTM.
You are entirely welcome!

You are welcome,I myself have enjoyed Travolta in most of what he has done as an actor,He played an excellent antagonist in this particular film. He make's you understand the motivation behind the horrible acts.He has played an excellent "bad-guy" on a few of his movie's though, including but not limited to Broken Arrow and Face Off.
Heck if you can get the Special Edition one's DO, I got this movie the day it came out and Wal-mart did not have any more copies of the Comic book left,so I missed out there- but I would have loved to have at least seen a copy of it.

LADYTASS,
It was his work in BROKEN ARROWTM that went a long way toward my not being able to take him seriously as Antagonist for so long.
The opening Boxing scene between him & C.S. made me laugh aloud in the cinema, whereas I just had difficulty believing that 2 men of such dissimilar physique to each other could be mistaken for one another.
The presence of MS. GINA GERSHON & the gunplay were my main reason for staying in my seat, that time....
